Kitchen Remodel on a Budget

Here is a tip for updating an old kitchen on a budget.

Paint is your best bet when updating cabinets. We used winter white for our client but you certainly can use any color. To keep costs down use tile on the counter top instead of high priced stone or solid surface materials.

Using large tiles and thin grout lines will give you a great look and your kitchen will feel like new. Stainless steel is affordable and these appliances will last for years.

In the future as your budget allows you can upgrade to new cabinets, knock down a wall...well, you get the idea.

Yard Sale Success

Time for a yard sale, moving sale? Set yours up and set it apart from the others.

Take an extra few minutes, find some scrap wood, fence planks, or use small nails and hang all art work on the wood or on small nails tapped into the frame around the garage. You get the idea...

The thing is to get stuff off the ground, displayed and looking like an outdoor resale shop.

Set up tables and cover with sheets or table cloths to show off dishes and other items.

Put pillows on furniture, plants on a side table...instant room setting.
Shoppers will buy more because your items look well kept and a better value.

Hi, Gayle Barrett of The Designer Gals coming your way. It is a Fab day here in Lodi, CA. A perfect 75 degrees thanks to a cold front hanging around from Alaska. Love That!

We helped a client purge clothes, craft items, books and more to free up space so this multi purpose room can stay organized.

Here is wishing everyone a wonderful New Year! With the holidays now over we can sit back and take a deep breath, hey? Now is the time we seem to make those promises about new beginnings in how we eat, excerise, and set goals for ourselves. Take a few minutes and email us some of your ideas!
Here in Oregon the winters can be mostly rain and overcast days, so I always look for ways to bring the "sunshine" in. This is the time I scout out the Goodwill stores as well as the consignment shops. Remember our goal is to reuse, repurpose and redesign. I keep an eye out for those discounts in stores as well. Looking for some items that may bring a little more color into my home space!!
After all the decorating for the holidays its good to get back to the basis design again for the home. This was the perfect time to redesign the living room with a new arragement.
